Our ESCON Team is Electrifying
ESCON is the Great Lakes Bay Region authority in securing electrical solutions for businesses and homes. ESCON provides electrical services, security systems, fiber, generators and power washers. No division operates in isolation, so we can draw on all of our expertise for all your jobs.
Electrical is where ESCON started. We’ve branched out from there, but electrical systems are at the core of what we do.
Electrical Management Team
Master Electrician Jeff Jezowski, an Estimator and Project Manager, brings a unique perspective to industrial and commercial projects. Before coming to Essexville Electric in 2000, Jeff earned his Mechanical Contractor’s License in Refrigeration and holds an Associates Degree in Small Business from Delta College. The Mechanical Contractor’s license gives him a deeper understanding of what the electricity will power. He has significant experience in working with temperature control. His Associate’s Degree offers Jeff a glimpse of what business owners and managers need from him to meet their goals. Outside of work, Jeff is an avid hunter and angler who enjoys spending time in the outdoors and with his family.
Robb Smith, Journeyman and Master Electrician, started with Essexville Electric in 1972. He’s stayed with the company ever since, watching it grow and fulfilling his personal goal of mentoring young electricians. Robb is a Senior Estimator and Project Manager in the Electrical Division, focusing on industrial and commercial contracts. Essexville Electric was the third place he worked as an electrician. Before going to the University of Michigan, earning a degree in Business Administration, Robb worked for his father’s company, Smith Maynard Electric on the corner of Third and Water streets in downtown Bay City. After graduation, he started his estimating career at Southeastern Electric on Bay City’s west side and a year later joined Essexville Electric. “I enjoy designing electrical systems and managing these projects to a successful completion,” Robb said. “At ESCON, I have been able to mentor many of the people who work here and watch the company grow. I particularly enjoy sharing what I know.” In his free time, Robb is an avid fly fisherman and is heavily involved with Trout Unlimited, locally and at the state level, where he is currently treasurer and past chairman. “I’m very passionate about cold water conservation,” said Robb, who is married with two grown children and six grandchildren.
Matt Grzegorczyk, an Estimator and Project Manager for Essexville Electric since 2004, focuses on industrial and commercial work. He has two favorite parts of the job. First, his co-workers are second-to-none. Second, he enjoys the variety. He may always be working with electricity, but every day is a different job site in a different industry. Matt worked briefly at Dow Chemical and on a family farm after high school, but his father was an electrician. Matt had been at enough of his father’s job sites knew his future was in electrical work. He took some classes at Delta College to get him where he is now. When not working, Matt is involved in his family and children’s sports. He still plays hockey himself, but he finds time to help coach his children’s hockey, baseball and softball teams.
Ted Bak has been a project manager for electrical contracting companies for over 30 years. He worked at Taunt Electric in Gladwin for 6 years before Taunt and ESCON merged in January 2016. At ESCON, he enjoys the organized, friendly atmosphere. Ted is married with 2 children. In his free time, Ted is a amateur radio (ham radio) hobbyist who volunteers as the Emergency Coordinator for Gladwin County. During an emergency, Ted helps coordinate emergency communications.
